 The Golden Fish

 Orientation

Long-long ago, there was a poor farmer living in an ugly house with his wife.
This poor family had a cocky rich neighbor who always mocked them. But the farmer and his wife were never angry with that. They were still kind to everyone else including their cocky neighbor.

Complication

One day, the wife of that poor farmer was sick.
He had no money to buy some medicines. He tried to borrow some money from his cocky neighbor but what he got were some offensive words.
He was so sad but he always tried to do the best for his wife. He went to the river to find some medicinal herbs to heal his wife.
At the river, the farmer found a golden fish trapped on a broken net which belonged to nobody.
The farmer took that fish which was almost dead. Quickly he went home and placed that fish on a pound.
The fish survived from dying and surprisingly after the farmer safe that fish, his wife was good and recovered from her sickness without any medical help.
The farmer and his wife thought that probably that golden fish brought them luckiness.
The days after that, the farmer was so lucky. He could easily get money. With the money he had, he was no more a farmer but he tried to start business.
Not too long after running his business, that farmer became rich but he never been a cocky person. He was still a kind man who loved to help the other people.
One day the cocky neighbor was so jealous of the success of that farmer. He came to that farmer’s house and asked him how he could be success.
The farmer told him that after he found the golden fish he became so lucky.
Then at the next day the cocky neighbor asked him to see the fish. He had bad intention to poison that fish.
After the cocky neighbor saw that fish, the he poisoned that fish and the farmer did not know about that. The golden fish was finally dead.

Resolution

The farmer and his wife were so sad about the death of their fish. They buried it at his backyard.
After the fish was dead, the farmer business was collapsed and he had to pay a lot of debt.
The farmer became poor again. The cocky neighbor was so happy because he could mock the farmer again.
But a month after the farmer buried that golden fish, there was a strange plant grew at the spot where the fish was buried. That strange plant was a golden tree which had golden leaves, flowers and fruits.
That was another luckiness the golden fish gave to the farmer because with that golden tree, the farmer became rich again.
